Wyrd is David R. Missildine's first published story. It is a story about of one of the Earth's last nature spirits who guards one of the last sanctuaries left on a planet ruined from pollution and disregard for her natural cycles. It is a tale about romance, nature, sacrifice, spirituality, and ultimately, hope. David Missildine is an imaginative storyteller from Western Massachusetts. He enjoys reading, writing and being an artist with words and pictures. He enjoys support from his loving wife, Terra, who created the mandala on the cover of this new book. Wyrd is a concept in Old English and Old Norse culture roughly corresponding to Fate or Karma. In a simple sense, Wyrd refers to how past actions continually affect and condition the future, but also how the future affects the past. The concept of Wyrd highlights the interconnected nature of all actions and how they influence each other.
